Why My Clients Feel Safe Handing Me Their Story
Because design isn’t just visual… It’s vulnerable.
When someone comes to me for branding, they’re not just asking for a logo or a colour palette. They’re handing over something fragile, delicate, vulnerable: their story, their identity, their dreams, their fears.
That takes guts.
And I never take it lightly.
In fact, my entire process is built around this truth: branding is emotional work. That’s why safety, empathy, and pacing aren’t just “nice-to-haves,” they’re the foundation.
I Don’t Just “Get It,” I Live It
I live with bipolar disorder, lupus, chronic pain, neurodivergence. I’m basically an alphabet soup of various identities. I know what it means to navigate the world in a body and brain that doesn’t play by the rules.
So I built a business model that doesn’t push me past my limits. I built a process that holds space for fluctuation, energy dips, and emotional honesty.
This isn’t a studio that demands perfection. It’s a space for permission.
Permission to go slow.
Permission to pause.
Permission to be human.
That same philosophy extends to how I work with my clients. Whether they’re neurodivergent, chronically ill, trauma survivors, or just deeply overwhelmed by the branding process… I meet them where they are.
Trauma- & Disability-Informed Approach
My approach is trauma-informed.
This isn’t therapy, but it is therapeutic.
Many of my clients come to me with branding wounds. They’ve worked with designers who rushed them, misunderstood them, and made them feel like they had to perform something they weren’t.
My approach is different.
Here’s what trauma-informed design means (for me) in practice:
I ask for consent at every step. You’re in control of your story
There are no forced timelines. Pacing is co-created, not dictated.
I invite, not demand. You don’t have to share anything that doesn’t feel safe.
There’s room for emotion. Tears, excitement, doubt… it’s all valid here.
I check in, often. You’ll never wonder what’s happening next.
Trauma-informed branding honours your nervous system. We build in regulation… together!
And it’s disability-informed too.
Access is non-negotiable in my studio.
That means:
Flexible communication styles. Voice notes, email, video calls… whatever works best for you.
Energy-aware timelines. We build in rest. No branding burnout here.
Sensory-conscious design. I check colour contrast, spacing, and readability so your brand feels welcoming to everyone.
I don’t design despite my disabilities. I design through them and that means my clients benefit from systems, communication, and processes that prioritise access, clarity, and compassion.
Boundaries Build Trust
Part of making people feel safe isn’t being endlessly available. It’s being clear.
You’ll know what to expect
You’ll have structured timeframes
You’ll be gently reminded, never guilted
You’ll get honest feedback grounded in care, not criticism
Boundaries are a love language in my studio. They allow both of us to show up well and protect the emotional energy it takes to go deep.
Why This Matters For You
When you feel safe, you open up.
When you open up, the story flows.
When the story flows, the brand gets real.
You don’t have to pretend to be further along than you are.
You don’t have to have the “perfect” vision.
You don’t need all the answers. That’s what I’m here for.
My clients tell me all the time: “This felt like therapy, but for my business.”
And it should.
Because branding is about feeling safe while being seen.
People often say, “I just feel calmer after talking to you.”
OR, “This is the first time I’ve felt understood in my business.”
That’s not by accident.
I’ve been the client who felt overwhelmed. I’ve been the entrepreneur who was masking, pushing, shrinking, or spiralling.
So I built the studio I wish I had:
One rooted in empathy.
One shaped by experience.
One designed for actual humans in mind.
