Halcyon HR Consultancy

Halcyon HR Consultancy came to me for a business card revamp designed specifically for real-world networking where first impressions happen in seconds. They wanted a card that felt sleek and modern, aligned tightly with their existing brand, and meaningfully incorporated their Kingfisher bird motif as a recognisable brand element. Their goal was simple: create a business card that looks premium, reads clearly, and makes people want to keep it!

Client Background

Halcyon HR Consultancy provides Human Resources (HR) consulting and HR solutions for businesses across Australia and New Zealand. Their positioning is centred on clarity and confidence: expert HR support that helps businesses build stronger teams and helps leaders grow without the usual overwhelm. In their words: “Whether you’re building a stronger team or advancing your career in leadership, we make complex HR simple.”

Business Card Design

The business card redesign focused on balancing sophistication with usability because a beautiful card is only useful if people can actually read it mid-conversation. I designed a new layout to create strong hierarchy and clear scanning: name and role first, key contact details next, and brand elements placed with intention rather than as decoration.

The Kingfisher bird was integrated as a visual anchor to strengthen recognition and brand cohesion, giving the card a distinct identity while keeping the overall look minimal and modern. The final result was a sleek, on-brand business card designed for high-touch moments. It aims to support confident introductions, improving brand recall after events, and presenting Halcyon HR as polished, credible, and established.

Logo Digitisation

Alongside the business card design, I also digitised Halcyon HR’s new logo to make it genuinely usable across modern platforms and print. While the logo had been designed previously by another designer, the original file provided was too small and limited in format, which created quality issues and restricted where it could be used confidently.

I converted and rebuilt the logo deliverables into a practical, professional file suite exploring clean versions in PDF, SVG, EPS, and PNG formats, including multiple sizes suited to different applications (web, social, email signatures, presentations, and high-resolution print). This ensured the brand could maintain crisp edges, consistent colour, and strong legibility everywhere it show up!
