Charlie at Morgan Charlie came to me at a point of expansion in their business. Their work already held depth, care, and integrity, but their brand and website no longer reflected the full scope of what they were offering or who they were becoming.
They were looking for someone who could translate their feeling into form. To help articulate their values visually and build a digital home that felt as safe and welcoming as their physical studio. Someone who understood both the emotional weight of therapeutic work and the expressive freedom of creative practice. My role was to help bring their brand to life in a way that honours the humanity at the centre of their work by creating a visual and digital presence that supports connection, accessibility, and growth, without losing soul.

Client Background
Morgan Charlie is a multidisciplinary creative therapist and artist whose practice is grounded in care, expression, and community connection. Based on the Gold Coast, their work extends beyond traditional therapy models, embracing creativity as a powerful tool for regulation, self-understanding, and healing.
They operate across multiple layers from 1:1 creative therapy to group wellbeing programs, workshops, and low-cost community events designed especially for queer and marginalised people. Alongside this, they maintain an active artistic practice, exhibiting work and experimenting across mediums. Each offering is distinct, yet all are anchored by the same values.
At the heart of Morgan Charlie’s work is a belief that healing does not need to be clinical or rigid. Their studio functions as both a therapeutic space and a creative hub. Ultimately, it’s a place where people are invited to show up as they are, make mess, explore identity, and reconnect with themselves through art and connection.
Branding Guide
The branding guide for Morgan Charlie was designed as a grounding framework rather than a rigid set of rules. Its purpose was to hold the emotional depth and creative breadth of the business while bringing clarity and consistency to how the brand shows up across spaces.
The process began by anchoring the brand in its core values. Every visual choice was approached as a translation of these: shaping feeling into form. The brand needed to feel calm and human, expressive without being overwhelming, and structured enough to support therapeutic work while still leaving room for artistic freedom.
A flexible visual system was developed to support this balance. The colour palette, typography, and layout principles were chosen to reduce cognitive load, readability, and encourage gentle engagement. Consistency was achieved through rhythm, spacing, and hierarchy rather than strict uniformity.
Crucially, the guide was build to work across the many contexts Morgan Charlie operates within (therapy, community programs, workshops, and artistic practice). It functions as a shared, fluid language that supports confidence and cohesion, allowing the brand to adapt and evolve as necessary without losing its sense of self.

Website Design
The website design process for Morgan Charlie began with clarity and care. With a practice spanning therapy, art, community programs, and mobile offerings, the primary goal was to create a digital space that felt steady and navigable. The site needed to act as a calm point of entry; a place where visitors could orient themselves, understand what was offered, and feel emotionally safe doing so.
Visually, the website drew directly from the branding guide (which was flexible enough to change over the course of the website development), using restraint and exploration as design tools. Generous spacing, soft colour application, and gentle hierarchy encouraged slow reading and reflection instead of urgency. Typography and contrast choices prioritised accessibility, ensuring the site could be comfortably used by people with diverse needs. We also included an accessibility plug in to further support this need.
The final site was designed to be both supportive and sustainable. It gives Morgan Charlie flexibility to grow, update offerings, and communicate across therapy, art, and community work without fracturing the online experience. More than a promotional tool, the website functions as a digital extension of the studio itself; calm, considered, and founded in care.
